Dear Parents/ Guardians

NEWSLETTER FOR TERM ONE 2019/2020 ACADEMIC YEAR

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance.

The above is our Christmas message to you, our cherished parents and guardians. The management, staff and pupils of the school express our appreciation and gratitude to you for your co-operation, commitment and response in general to affairs in the school. We are inspired by your positive attitude which continues to drive us.

VACATION;

The school has today, Friday, December 20, 2019 gone on break for the Christmas holidays (1st term holidays). The re-opening day for 2nd term 2019/2020 is Wednesday, January 8, 2020. Owing to the brevity of the period, we humbly urge you to treat your wards’ education as a matter of utmost importance and support them financially and materially.

EXAMINATION REPORTS;

Your wards are coming home with their report. Kindly find time and go through it and offer your ward the necessary commendation, encouragement or advice.

ACADEMIC WORK;

The school has gone through a smooth academic term of 15 weeks. Some new teachers were recruited at the beginning of the term to complement the old hands. The challenge we face now borders on the non-availability of some textbooks for the new curriculum. We hope that they will soon be brought into the system for use.

This problem aside, there are some pupils who do not have the adequate number of exercise books and the few textbooks that are available. Parents /Guardians whose wards lack such items have to treat the situation as urgent and immediately procure the items for them

MOCK EXAMS FOR J.H.S 3:

A series of mock exams (8 in all) has been lined up for JHS 3 pupils. The first has already been written, with the second coming off immediately after re-opening.

PAYMENT OF FEES:

Despite the liberal terms for payment of fees in the school, some parents/guardians have defaulted in the payment of their wards’ fees. Payment of fees in instalments is still allowed, however we appeal to parents/guardians not to abuse this liberal arrangement. Management has decided that reports for pupils who owe fees will not be dispatched to parents

P.T.A MEETING:

The chairman and the executive of the PTA regret their inability to call a general meeting during the first term. Members are assured that a meeting will be called immediately after reopening.

REPORTING FROM HOLIDAYS:

All pupils are expected to report to school on the re-opening day, Wednesday, January 8, 2020, as serious academic work resumes on that day.

Parents/Guardians should, ensure that their wards comply with this directive. Thanks for your perseverance and commitment to getting your wards educated at Deutsche International School.

All pupils are to bring the under listed items on the re-opening day i.e. January 8, 2020.
